my belief in 'Trust' is at an all time low... but not lost.

A
bloke's June
2004 online
journal
I'm
just going with the flow. any
red/green 'highlighted' words are links to deeper stuff.
Tuesday 1st June Pottered
around the house till a few games of Minesweeper with Steve and then Arran.
Wednesday
2nd June Zap and lethargy as I try to comprehend stuff. Thursday
3rd June Headaches ruled the day but by evening I'd forced myself
across the road, and I was happy that the effort was worth it. Friday
4th June Managed to get the car taxed and sick note delivered before
another zap and Tony popping in. Saturday
5th June Walked around to Tony's and we had a chat, and a couple of
beers, as we watched the Blue Tits feeding their young but it is
hard being strong as I listened to such similar woes as mine. Sunday
6th June While the bad luck of woe and weary wheat reaction, while
I cope with my runaway wife's wishes, was a bit hard today, I am pleased
that my bathroom is white and washing is washed. Monday
7th June Went for another Zap before Tony phoned to see if I fancied
a pint and, even though I had no funds, I accepted his invitation. We
met outside the Woody and looked through the window, and chatted with our
new Hosts, to see how the renovation is getting on. After
calling in to see how Ernie was, the three of us went up to the Shell Club
and enjoyed a chat, but Tony and I were aware that Ernie's sharp wit wasn't
repaired yet after his encounter with the robber's bat. Tuesday
8th June The testing of different foods, drinks, etc., has again
been very painful but I thought of Ernie and how well he's coping but
I'm still totally confused. Arran
popped in, as I hadn't been on line and I appreciated his concern. Wednesday
9th June Went for the penultimate zap and reported 'no problem'
but I will look forward to being light free. I
was pleased to receive an E-mail from Vince which allowed me to focus my thoughts
in reply. Thursday
10th June Steve called in and after a chat we tried the Sir Robert
where we compared wheat reactions. In
the evening I popped across the road for an hour and enjoyed a chat with Barry
and Ian for a couple of hours. Friday
11th June Woke to find my right arm was out of action again and
the thumb was frozen, so rested and enjoyed the cricket. In
the evening Tim popped in for a chat. Saturday
12th June Arm still useless so stayed with the cricket. Sunday
13th June Stayed with the cricket, wonderful 4th day, and was pleased
that movement was returning in the arm but in the evening, the headaches kicked
in. Monday
14th June Tony A called in and we worked on the Court papers that
his runaway wife had issued him before we popped out to the newly renovated
Woody and I was impressed at the changes. Tuesday
15th June The headaches were running about 2 hourly, so I lost
myself in ironing, before Ian M made a surprise call and we enjoyed chatting
about old times. Wednesday
16th June After another sleepless night, I continued the ironing
and eventually hung 44 shirts in the wardrobes.
Received a nice phone
call from a Samantha at the local Council and look forward to helping with
an Arts project in the future. Thursday
17th June The arm was feeling much better and I got stuck into some
housework but the headaches were starting to get me down and I was pleased
to force myself across the road for a brief respite. Friday
18th June While I should have kept Michael's 'Fathers Day' card till
Sunday, I needed to open it early and felt better for it before moving
furniture around. Saturday
19th June The head pains were sufficient that I took pain relief pills
which marginally helped as I continued to rearrange the living room. Sunday
20th June Took more pills and was surprised to receive a visit from
my Sister and her Son, Simon, and they were still here when Michael phoned
from London, and Sarah and Mark came here with a nice Fathers day present
and hug. All
told, that was a nice day for a change and the headaches managed to stay away
till everyone had gone. I
took off my Ring. Monday
21st June Watched the England Football match before popping to the
Woody but was concerned at the sadness that Ernie seems to be suffering
since he was attacked. Tuesday
22nd June Arran called
in for a chat before I starved myself in readiness for a blood test. Wednesday
23rd June Unable to go for the blood test, as I couldn't drive anywhere
safely, I was cheered by a lovely E-mail from Sally and Doug kindly popped
in to make sure that I was OK.
Thursday 24th June While starving myself in readiness
for another go at the blood test, I really missed a pint as I endured the
England Football match.
Friday 25th June Set off for the blood
test but was unable to find a garage that still sold 4 Star petrol and,
as I was already on red, I quickly returned home.
Watched The Prisoner
and shaved off my moustache.
Saturday 26th June Another
bad night but enjoyed chatting with Arran when he popped in.
Phoned Sarah, thinking
she was flying to sunny climes tomorrow but she was preparing for an interview
next Friday, and is looking forward to relaxing the following week.
Rooted around for
loose cash and went across to the Woody for a pint and enjoyed talking
to Ian N.
Sunday
27th June After the worst night for a long time, I was exhausted
and didn't do much but fortunately felt easier when Tony S popped in to
pick up my financial paperwork, before starving myself again.
Michael phoned about
a problem with his new Printer and, while we couldn't sort the thing,
it was lovely to chat to him for a while. Monday
28th June Between heads, managed to get the Blood Test done, then
two pain killers, and was later pleasantly surprised to receive a visit from
Gordon L, my Teacher, of old, returning my school
Report, 'Must break himself free of his habit of doodling' 6th Jan. 1964
and enjoyed the chance to chat, over coffee.
I'd been looking forward to having a pint with Tony, next door, but had to
pop and apologise for not being able to go out, and had a nice chat with Rachel
and her Son, from across our Road, till Tim returned with his PC problem and
I let him use one of mine to save his data, as I was unable to visit the
Woody anyway. Tried
a Bread Roll against the headaches but didn't get to wish Sarah and Mark
a Happy Anniversary. Tuesday
29th June A shaky day, with just a fuzzy head, and I felt able
to accept Tony A's offer to buy me a few beers in the Woody and on closing,
we went back to his house for a chat about wives.
Unfortunately a vicious
headache kicked in, and I needed to return home to take the wrath and
subsequently suffered a very nasty night, as bad as Saturday.
Wednesday
30th June I was in no condition to drive to Sarah's again and could
only phone to wish her a very Happy Birthday but managed to get stuff ready
for tomorrows visit to Chester for the appointment with the Medical assessor.
