Orbs 2002

drakesvision no-frames site

At the begining of the year,
I received a telephone call
from the Cheshire Paranormal Society,
asking for help on their web site
and the following day, John (Team Leader),
a fascinating chap, came around here
and gave me a CD of their web endeavours so far.

In the evening,
I wandered through the offline web site
and was intrigued at what I saw...
They seem to get calls from old pubs and spooky houses, etc.
and take pictures of an odd orb or ghost occasionally.
and
I was fascinated sufficiently to raise a few hairs on my neck.

I've got a web page http://www.drakesvision.com/2002/
that I did for New Years Eve, at the Masonic Club across the road,
and after seeing the blobs that the paranormal guys had photographed,
I reviewed the original 79 images, comparing his Orbs with my blobs
many of which had irritated me on first viewing
by their frequent occurance, on a majority of my images.

I had managed to cut out a lot of these
strange blobs, blaming light / finger errors,
before uploading the edited page,
hoping that nobody would notice the odd blemish, and it raised a few smiles from the partygoers who have since seen the page.

To my uninitiated mind, the blobs on the original images were errors...
dust, reflection or bad angle/photographer
but on second viewing, with new information,
I was stunned at the frequency of the orbs.

.

The next day, John brought his computer round here for me to have a look at,
unfortunately he called as I was preparing to take my dear wife to work
and I only had time to show him the first two New Years Eve pictures but,
after he took Sylvia to work, I knew that his interest was piqued.

Thursday saw John as expected
and I showed him the remainder of the New Year images,
he also was gobsmacked,
before I invited him to join me for a pint on my usual Thursday visit to the Club.

He turned up with a couple of cameras and,
after checking with the Club Chairman,
we proceeded to photograph all the various rooms. Strange.

Astonished at the results, I've taken my digital camera, an Olympus C-830L,
across with me most weeks and shot a series images, to double check, while several other interested 'blob catchers' are starting to build up their own collections.

While I'm still scepticalish, I can see much more testing to come.
