rose petals and rice
is the local combination
for throwing after a wedding

taxi to the Town Hall
on the harbour front

caught by timeshare salesperson
escaped

into Rhodes Town we walked
City of the Rose

 

searched
no roses

 

stopped for refreshments

the man said a big beer
and a little shandy !!

still no rose petals
but two types of rice


the museum
looked cool

Hellenic Helios


and Hospitallers Headstone

still no rose petals
as we hailed a taxi
the taxi driver
took us to a florist that he knew
but it had closed down

and we gave up

 

after our evening meal
we met Sarah and Mark
at 'Eddy's Bar'
for a Wedding Eve
celebration

 

and were soon joined by

Phil and Alicia

Andy, Lisa and Mark's Sister Kimi

along with James

and Mark's Mum


while I was happy to stick with
the Erdinger weiss beer
Phil enjoyed trying some of the more
esoteric beers that Eddy stocks

each with its unique glass
and Eddy's pouring method

and
before we left for our hotels

we had promised Caroline

 


it was a bit later than we had planned
when we got back to the hotel

that we would return
in full wedding gear


but we were happy
that the wedding day
had started so well
